The Sitting Month

This month Blakelyn learned to sit!!
She sat by herself on July 12, 2012 and mastered the sitting phenomenon on Friday the 13th of July!

Happy Friday the 13th!
*What!? You mean I can see daddy standing behind me when I look into the mirror?!

Always trying to get her foot into her mouth, no matter where, no matter how:

Playing the piano with daddy.

Always happy when she wakes up!

Except when mom doesn't put down the camera to pick the baby up.

I bought this vibrating teething toy when Blakelyn was 6 month, but she wasn't able to hold it up...
now she can!

We transitioned to the highchair so Blakelyn could get used to a tray in front of her to play/eat/ put her messy hands all over something easier to clean.

Sitting to play!
Blakelyn has wanted to only play while sitting since she was 6 months.
We always had to sit behind her for support. Now we don't have to!
We just put the boppy behind her just in case of accidental off balance incidents.

What, what! I can also sit, play, and twist to get a picture!

So happy to be sitting!!

"Why is mom always taking pictures of me now!"

"Fine, I'll give in to picture taking.  Awwh see my tonsils!"

It's so much more fun to wear dresses now!

Playing with her balance by using her arms!

New skirt mommy made!

Learning to cheese for the camera.
Whenever she sees a bright light now she turns to it and smiles!

Gummy grin!

Daddy's home! Give me some love Dad!

So our little giant girl is  now wearing 12 month size onesies (she's only 8 months old)!
We decided it was time to upgrade to a convertible car seat!

Testing out the new car seat!

JJ and Pops (Bryan's parents) attended William & Mary so they had to put their input into her future.
The shirt is a 12m size and was rather tight pulling onto her.

What does this say?

Uh, I thought I was suppose to support different schools?

Oh look, a foot!

Blakelyn apparently likes to cat nap with her feet propped up!

Testing out her new ability to balance and reach!

So flexible!

We went a splash pad in Decatur with some friends!

Most of the activity (water spouts/big kids running around) was in the middle of the designated area. We were able to find a spot on the edge for Blakelyn to sit, play, and enjoy the water.

Mommy and Blakelyn!

We always know when Blakelyn is OUT when she sleeps like this:
our favorite position to see her sleeping in!

JJ & Pops came to babysit one weekend so Bryan and I could celebrate our 4th Anniversary!
Before our date, we got some video of Blakelyn playing Peek-A-Boo with JJ.
The Olympics had been on and Blakelyn picked up a few "moves" from what she saw!

I love the pose she makes when she is proud of herself!

Asleep in the car!

Love those eye lashes! As Bryan would tell Blakelyn "your welcome Blakelyn!"

So far, Blakelyn has enjoyed all the food we have given her.  Her favorite is rice cereal, she can always down the rice cereal.  The blander the better!
We fed her peas one night and, as the following pictures will show, she is disgusted by them!

A video of her dislike for peas! Yep she is indeed Bryan's child!
