9 Months!

Official 9 Month Stats:

Height: 29.5 inches (95%)
Weight: 17 lbs 4 oz (25%)
Head Circumference: 17 inches

Blakelyn did well at her doctors visit.  She didn't get any immunization shots, but they did check for anemia and we both got a flu shot.  When the doctor walked in she was greeted by Blakelyn with a big ole smile and a happy scream! Blakelyn didn't mind the doctor checking her out, in fact when the doctor checked her eyesight she was smiling the whole time (probably thought she was getting her picture taken).  The only thing Blakelyn didn't like was having to lay down to change her clothes and get the flu shot.

For the record, Blakelyn has done well during all her shots.  She notices the shock of pain, cries a little, then quickly gets over it. Like I said, for the flu shot she was too upset having to lay down that as soon as I sat her up, she was good to go.

The anemia prick was a lot better than the PKU test she got at 2 weeks.  Again, Blakelyn noticed the prick of pain, looked up and reached for me, then watched in mesmerization as the technician squeezed her toe to take the sample (all I had to do was hug her to reassure her she was ok).

After the anemia check, Blakelyn was interested in the bandaid and had to taste it to explore it...
she sucked the bandaid right off!

Photo Shoot:
This months photo shoot was a bit more interesting since Blakelyn was a bit more curious about her surroundings now that she can sit and manipulate herself to explore (without crawling).

9 Months Old!
We have noticed her exploring her hands more this month. Blakelyn will stare at her hands as she wiggles her fingers, rotates her wrist, wave, etc.  I do believe our first sign is on its way!

Must reach for the brush and comb!

Got 'em!

Oh look there's something over here too!

Hey pink bear, I can explore more this month!

I know my limits, mommy moved the coaster out of my reach and I'm not willing (yet) to try and reach for it because I'll fall over.

Always reaching...

Whoa, look what I can do!  I can make the glider move by myself!

Oh a ball...

I'm more interested in the coaster.

Oh a rattle, how long will this last?...

A while.

It took a couple tries to capture this interaction...
Look a clown!

I've got a clown.

But I'm not interested, bye bye clown.

Where did the clown go? Maybe mommy will play fetch!

I'm sure if I look at the pictures of her on this bear that I would see a size difference, but I never do.

But she is a happy baby!

Finally something different about this prop, first time to stretch her legs out!

Stopped wiggling for a split second to check out those whales on the curtains.

New angle, sitting up!
Are those books I see on the shelf?!  Am I able to reach for them without falling over?!?

Maybe some other day, but I've got my eye on them!

Oh look a blanket.

New prop.

I'm such a big girl sitting up!

Rattles always entertain!
