So this will be a long post since I am tying a whole month together... *must blog more often*
But hey, has anyone ever complained "geez I wish they'd post less pictures!"
Official Stats:
Height: 27.8 inches (95%)
Weight: 13.14 lbs. (15%)
Head Circumference: 16.5 inches (25%)
Early in the month Blakelyn began playing with toys, not just fingers.
Here she is with her tongue through the O'Ball:
We finally decided to put the exersaucer together. At first B-Daddy was apprehensive thinking she was too big for the exersaucer and that we should have been using it earlier...
I suppose the egg reminds her of her food source...
Her height is obviously in her torso, since her legs don't come close to touching the bottom of the exersaucer.
The biggest excitement this month was when Blakelyn found her feet!! It came out of nowhere, but a las she has toys that are always attached to her. It happened on May 1, 2012 (ok so a little before her 6th month Birthday). B-Daddy was out of town on business while Blakelyn and I decided to go to Birmingham for a few days so we (I) could get some of a break. The day we got to Birmingham we decided to go to JJ's (B-Daddy's mom) school to see her class. As we ate lunch together, Blakelyn haphazardly caught her foot with her hand... and wait for it, I think she's going to, yes, perhaps, maybe, into her mouth her foot went.
She continued to suck, chew, and explore her entire right foot (and left foot) for the rest of the day. I know because I watched her, literally, for three hours, sucking, chewing.
We thought that maybe by the next day she would have forgotten her discovery, nope she remembered:
That night, she did something she hadn't before, she held her own bottle! She had been grabbing the side of the bottle or grabbing our fingers as we fed her, but never all by herself. Granted this bottle maybe had 1 ounce left, but still it's all her holding the bottle:
Not only did Blakelyn find her feet she also found toys and reaching for them. She looks kind of like a monkey with a tamborine when she grasps onto something. Her favorite toys to chew on are: Sophie Le Giraffe, some teething rings, silver rattle, Blubee, and O'Ball.
While we were in Birmingham Blakelyn was very chill and happy, we loved it!! She took two long (1-2 hour) naps a day, smiled a lot, cooed, and hardly fussed at all. We assumed she was going through a growth spurt. Plus with all the discoveries she was making, she must be exhausted... then we came home.
The rash started on her legs and eventually made it to her arms and face, but not her torso. I called our "in house" doctor, Dr. Lala, to ask what we should do. She asked me a series of questions: does she have a fever (99.1), is the rash raised (no), has she been acting not like her self... oh man, you mean this non fussy, happy, sleeping baby is going to go away (yep sure does)!! Dr. Lala said that babies just sometimes get unknown rashes and go away on their own. I called our official doctor and the nurse confirmed, just a fluke of a rash nothing to be alarmed with, it will just clear up on it's own. If she starts fussing a lot call back we may need to see her... come mid week, our normally fussy, happy-for-the-most-part, non sleeping during-the-day baby had returned... it was nice while it lasted.
More pics of my Leggy Leprechaun:
Baby Gone Green (that fits better when she is in a disposable). I don't believe this 6-9 month onesie was ready for my long torso baby.
Off for a walk:
The weather this month had been bipolar hot, cold, hot, cold.
One chilly yet bright day we decided to go for a walk and test out Blakelyn's shades:

JJ and Pops came for a quick visit and Blakelyn took her first "pony" ride:
Just chillin' in the morning:
Happy baby after a little nap:
See how happy you are when you nap, Blakelyn!
As I have mentioned before, when I have a favorite outfit of Blakelyn's that I want to remember I have to go ahead and to take pictures.
Future ballerina?
Or maybe River Dance:
Snap, another cold spell when Mimi was in town. (I suppose I should take pictures of our guests faces, or the rest of their body).
Trying to eat Mimi's fingers:
Whoever decided to sew ears on babies' hoods, awe, so cute!
Testing out our new umbrella stroller:
This month we began solids. Nothing too exciting, yet, just rice cereal.
Sitting in her highchair:
She liked it for the most part, much too runny, but she got the hang of the process:
spoon in mouth, close lips, swallow.
Official 6 month photo shoot:
Getting big!
She actually kicked the ball away from herself:
Finally playing with the ball:
Such a sweet face:
Pretty much sums up how we see her most of the time:
Multitasking: Play with foot, chew on Sophie:
Not so sure about this pink bear anymore:
Like a moth, always finds the light:
I love seeing her without something in her mouth (or a bib on for that matter):
Teething on Sophie:
Does this make the rattle a choking hazard?:
A little out of focus, but I love her facial expression:
