I do believe I forgot to write about Blakelyn's stats from last month.
7 month stats (unofficial):
Height: 28 inches
Weight: 14.6 pounds
8 month stats (unofficial):
Height: 28.5 inches
Weight: 16.4 pounds
** I guess I should note (for my own sake) that these monthly posts actually reflect up to the specified month. So actually everything that is mentioned, Blakelyn did/experienced the month before.**
This month, we made a trip down to Birmingham.
JJ and Pops got some new items for Blakelyn to use at their house.
Highchair:
Blakelyn can now hold her own bottle very well; she likes to be in control of her eating.
She will suckle some, take the bottle out, then suckle some more.
We brought the walker with us, it's awesome. She loves it, we love it.
Good thing we have a ranch style house.
Great Aunt Susan and Uncle Bill got Blakelyn some new shoes: Toms!
A little too big, but they are pink and sparkly!
The rocking chair was Judy's when she was a little girl.
We went for a swim for the first time!
Testing out the water!
I think she likes it!
She does!
Eating a mum mum.
Bryan hates them, but they keep her preoccupied as we clean.
Blakelyn has a tendency to not know when she is full, she will just keep on eating, but then spit it all back out later. The mum mum helps to remind her that she is full, therefore she is less fussy when the empty containers disappear.
Watching daddy trim the "bushes."
"Sitting" in a big boy girl chair.
Part of our routine is to go to the gym in the mornings. It helps keep me sane, keeps my pelvis in place, and Blakelyn can be around other little kids. Apparently it wears her out because sometimes I go to get her and she is OUT COLD. It usually happens when the kiddie gym is super packed and lots of kids are yelling and causing chaos, figures.
We got a walker from our friends The Burns'. I do believe they took these off the market because they pose a hazard (if you have stairs). We don't, so we love the walker. Blakelyn can stay upright to play!
Testing out the shopping cart like a big girl!
Still a little too small, but you have to start somewhere.
At least the new Target carts are at a slant.
Blakelyn is now sleeping on her stomach.
As I have said, she hates being on her tummy, but she is now starting and ending her slumber on her tummy.
And no, she still won't roll from her tummy to her back.
She can, but chooses not to when she wants to.
8 Month Photo Shoot:
Blakelyn was in a bit of a fowl mood for these pictures, but we got some good ones.
I only smile for flashy toys!
Snaps yo, I'm 8 months old!
I {heart} Sophie!
I've got my O'Ball to play with.
What?! no way!
Check out my foot, it naturally rotates out. No foot problems here!
Whoa I can use my feet to play.
I don't think I like the taste of clown.
Yuck, some textures don't belong in the mouth.
Roar, I'm a bear!
Arr Bear, it's you or me on this chair!
Oh snaps, I'm stuck! Guess the Bear wins!
Yep, really stuck!
Ok, I guess we can both be up here.
I'm done.
I need to get a better picture of this, but Blakelyn likes to smoosh the ball (which faintly vibrates) against her nose. It's almost like she's trying to smell it by sticking it up her nose.
Ok, one last shot, I'm 8 months old!!
